Wight Tea Company is a growing tea brand bringing high-quality teas and handcrafted drinks to farmers markets, festivals, and special events across the region. As we expand our event presence, we're building out a small, reliable team.
The role
Alongside another staff person, you will be on site at events making beverages, taking orders, and selling our pre-packaged teas. This role is for someone who thrives in the morning and works quickly, loves talking with people, and is a tea (preferably Wight Tea Co)-enthusiast.
Responsibilities

Customer engagement: greet market visitors, share the story behind our products, provide helpful, positive interactions.

Barista experience: Learn from our founders how to craft all of our signature teas to serve, hot and/or iced, at the market.

Sales & Transactions: Promote and sell boxes and pouches of loose leaf tea, tea bags, and tea accessories.

Accurately handle both cash and card payments.

Stall Setup & Breakdown: Load, transport, assemble, and take down market stall materials.

Ensure the display is tidy, inviting, and well-stocked throughout the day.

Pick up ice and last-minute supplies ahead of events.

Participate in event setup including load-in, and load-out.

Has transportation and can give another staff member a lift back from UHaul to return to their vehicle.

You must be dependable. Many people are relying on you, if you don't show up, it's a big deal.
Schedule
Weekly Saturday farmers market, 5:30 AM–12:00 PM plus time for load-in/out. Additional events monthly or as scheduled. Mostly mornings, with some afternoon and evening events.
Qualifications

Valid driver's license; comfortable driving a rented U-Haul van

Experience in food and beverage service is a plus

Extremely reliable and reachable; early mornings are part of this role

Strong organizational and communication skills

Willingness to learn about our teas and our company

Able to talk to people easily and build a quick rapport

Be able to lift at least 25 lbs at a time

Minimum base salary per farmers market shift $120 (includes pay for market travel time)
Compensation
$18-20/hr depending on experience, with potential room to grow.
