Our Story

 

It started with two siblings and a shared love of tea.

Brittany was working at a local tea shop when she fell hard for the world of tea: the history behind every leaf, the ritual of the pour, the way a good cup can turn an ordinary moment into something worth slowing down for. Every week, she'd come home with something new she'd learned, and share it with her brother, who loved tea just as much as she did. Those weekly conversations became the start of something bigger than either of them expected.

At their mom's suggestion, the two started blending teas just for fun. No grand plan, no business degree between them, just two people who loved tea and loved each other. That "why not?" moment became Wight Tea Company, and for the past 10 years, it's been a labor of love ever since.

It hasn't always been easy. We've opened a café and made the hard call to close it. We've weathered packaging disasters, tight budgets, and the kind of setbacks that come with building something from the ground up, without a safety net, without deep pockets, and without giving up. But we've also grown into something we're really proud of: a small, family-run tea company that gets to spend its days doing what it loves.
